Scrintal, an innovative visual note-taking and collaboration tool, has raised €1 million in funding to launch and accelerate its growth. The investment round is led by Spintop Ventures, and joined by existing investor Icebreaker VC, and Jacob Hellqvist. The company combines visual canvases with documentation to help professionals and teams go from idea to presentable work on the same screen.
With hybrid work, bringing individuals and teams to a shared understanding is a growing challenge. Founded by Ece Kural and Furkan Bayraktar, Scrintal’s vision is to change the way people clarify their thoughts and share their work.
– We’re creating a new category in work tools; a visual knowledge base. Our company was born out of the real-life struggle we experienced ourselves. When I was finishing my PhD at Stockholm University I realized I needed a more visual way of working, says Ece Kural, co-founder and CEO.
Sami Niemi, from Spintop Ventures, says:
– I’m impressed about Scrintal across the board. The team is developing the product at a very high pace in tight collaboration with a well-defined and managed power user community, supported by an outstanding development team and an architecture that allows Scrintal to iterate much faster and better than other players in the market.
The company will use the funding for launching the app, commercialization and product development.
– We are extremely happy to be backed by the leading investors in the Nordics. With the new funding, we’ll continue building the best possible product for millions needing visual working, initially onboarding the 40.000 long waiting list. says Furkan Bayraktar.
Founders state that they consider knowledge work a constant back and forth between text and visuality. To enable the utmost flexibility in working, Scrintal focuses on three parts of the knowledge work; thinking, developing, and sharing. Scrintal allows users to think on the canvas freely, develop their ideas, and turn them into full documents in the same place. Finally, the visual workspace allows users to transform even casual notes into presentable formats. The company positions itself as the one place to brainstorm, develop and present ideas seamlessly.
Scrintal’s three co-founders have foreign backgrounds and met when they all moved to Stockholm to work across different sectors.
– Our immigrant background is a great asset for us since we contribute to creating a diverse environment. Sweden’s open and inclusive work environment allowed us to start a tech company. We’ve never felt like outsiders during the past two years and have received tremendous support from various actors within the Swedish tech ecosystem, not to mention the received Vinnova grants, says Ece Kural.
